Das Stahl Bierhaus Logo

Das Stahl Bierhaus is a specialty bottleshop and taproom in South Huntsville. They wanted to develop a mark that harkened back to their German roots while celebrating their unique style and flavors. For this project, I knew that a strong wordmark would go further than trying to create any identifying icon or graphic. I picked a heavy-weight slab serif called Evil Dead that was unique, with its subtle serifs and wide stems, and easily read from a long distance, knowing that it would be on a large storefront sign. I added some small barley grass to tie the mark to beer and called it a day.
